Sparkly Tractor card for a special birthday

Beginner level - Easy glittered tractor

My next door neighbour who is a farmer is turning 70 in a few weeks, so I thought a tractor card would suit him perfectly! This is a very quick and easy tutorial, suitable for a beginner as it does not involve a Print and Cut, but you simply cut the shapes from coloured card.

EQIPMENT:
Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait
Cutting mat
Coloured card and glitter card
Glue
Tractor file, Stinkin Cute Paper Piecings #79141
Font: LD Red Hatter's Hand #111976

Open the file from your library and Ungroup. What makes this file particularly good for a beginner, is that the pieces are already coloured in for you, so they are easy to identify.

Arrange the shapes together for cutting on various colours of card, move them to one side except for your first piece, and simply pop different coloured card on the mat and into your Silhouette as needed for each shape.

I cut the main body from green glitter card, and the roof and mudguard from blue glitter card as shown. When cutting glitter card, lay it on with the glitter facing up as otherwise it does not adhere well to the mat. I used the Silhouette suggested cut settings for glitter cardstock, except I only needed a single cut rather than double. You can do a test cut before you start, or use the suggested blade settings and do one cut. Before removing the mat from the machine, check that the cut is successful, and if not, cut again.

I used two different shades of silvery grey card for the exhaust and wheel rims.
If wanted, why not cut a number from card and stick it on the windows, and the person's name could puff out of the exhaust pipe. There is a good thought bubble file in the Silhouette Design store by Ki Memories #21223 My husband thought this was perfect for Geordie, so that is praise indeed!
